one other thing to consider if you start selling 100+ of these things is income tax. The taxman is said to be monitoring ebay and it may well be worth watching out for.

I'd suggest some market research before buying anything in bulk. The fact that you think it's a desirable product doesn't mean lots of other people will necessarily agree with you. I have loads of things I bought because I wanted them, but can I get anything for them on ebay now I no longer want them? By and large, no.
I'd suggest asking your friends whether they would be interested in one of this mystery product, and whether they would be prepared to pay your asking price for it.
And don't make the mistake of asking them whether they think someone would be interested in it, be sure to ask whether they would be interested. You need to know if there's an actual market among real people, not a potential market among theoretical ones. Theoretical people can't spend real money.
