*Desperate mortgage help required-court action from Halifax*

hi all, i am looking for some urgent urgent help as i have been threatened with legal action to repossess my house, which i believe unfairly. Cut a long story short my partner was quite ill in pregnancy before she was due to leave so we lost out financially. When we did have our our son who was premature, my partner had to stay in hospital and i had to come home with our little boy and that meant 6 weeks no pay.
Anyway we just got dogged with a bit of bad luck etc but i agreed with Halifax we could pay £450 a month instead of £668. That agreement was in place until march this year and i must admit i broke the agreement twice due to unfortunate circumstances etc.
I thought that from dec to march we would have cuaght up on all outstanding bills and get straight0 which i have  BUT i now have a letter threatening action. I spoke to Halifax who said well what could you pay, which i explained as i have an even better job etc. They said fine but you will have to tell the solicitors. The solicitors text me by phone due the fact i hadnt replied to their letter and upon calling i explained that i hadn't recieved one-when they did send a copy it was for the next door neighbour:mad:
Ive made my offer to the solicitors who then called Halifax and they have said no!!! I feel really let down and i havnt slept in 3 days now through this worry. Amyone got any ideas at all please? Please find copy of letter from solicitors

Dont worry, sleep at night!
Get advice as per above. However, you are in the early stages so you can stop any action and not lose your home.
If you go to court you will get at least one let off. The rep for the Halifax will try and make an arrangement with you before you go in to see the judge. Its all very laid back, well in my case it was!
As long as you offer a payment that will clear the arrears and mortgage by the end of the term you will be fine.
The lender will try and make you pay as much of the arrears as possible. In the meantime do not stop making payments. Pay as much off as you can while your sorting this out, it will go in your favour.
There is legal help in place, free. Ask Halifax for this info as they will have it. National debt line is good as are the links above.
But do not stress over this, all it is bricks and mortor! You have your child and partner to worry about first!

Some useful points above.
Are there any lessons that you can learn from the last time you had a property repossessed?
Is there anything you didn't do then that you could do now?I split from my ex-partner 2.5 years ago after our house got repossessed ... My new partner and i were lucky enough to buy a house (new build from barrats) and the repossession did not show up.0 -
Make sure you write them a letter asking to make a payment agreement. Look at all your finances and see where you can make cuts eg sky tv, Luxury

If you've got straight why are there still arrears? I suspect that you prioritised your other bills and not your mortgage payments. This was a mistake, your mortgage bills should be a priority not a last resort. mortgage payments, then council tax, then utilities. Credit card companies may make the most noise but they are not priority debts.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards.
