Door stripping

Roughly how much will it cost to have internal doors (hollow ones ,stuffed with corrugated card), dipped to remove the paint ? (Gateshead/Newcastle area)
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

I don't know if it would be possible with these kind of doors as it is an acid that is used to strip the doors & I'm sure the cardboard would disintegrate.

These kind of doors are usually quite cheap, so may be more cost effective for you to buy new solid doors.

Paint stripping a wooden door down here in London costs from around £15 per door.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • Been a while since I lived in the area, but there used to be a place called dip'n'strip in Low Fell. Not sure if they're still there. But it probably would be cheaper to buy new.

They're still there (well several months ago they where, but I never use that road very often), but it may just be better to look at new ones.

B&Q,Homebase etc. sell solid pine 6 panel interior doors for around £20 so thats probably cheaper.Consider though on top of that you may have to pay a joiner to hang them unless you can do it yourself..
