Hi,ive been given a dvd player from a relative,he bought it from 'argos' last june,i have the reciept but no original box,but its faulty.Will they honour a replacement or alternative ? it was paid for but vouchers/cash,not cc.

You shouldn't have a problem. The goods are faulty, so the original packaging is irrelevant.0

Why? The receipt is all you need. Lots of people throw the box as soon as it's opened, not keep it 9 months.
You don't actually need a receipt either, you just need 'proof of purchase'.No free lunch, and no free laptop
