The dreaded eCheque and unconfirmed address

Great, sold one of my more expensive items. Drat, newbie (5 FB) buyer, by eCheque and unconfirmed address (so no seller protection). Am I within my rights to refuse to post to an unconfirmed address, if I can't get them to get it confirmed?

*sigh* I hate eCheques too - should be banned. :(

The address doesn't have to be confirmed to have seller protection its whether it says in details with the address OK to send and seller protection eligible.. You haven't needed a confirmed address for a couple of years. My own address on a 10 year old paypal account seems to be confirmed one day then unconfirmed the next. So I personally think there is a glitch in the system but sellers always get seller protection off my account

echeques are a paypal payment 90% of the time the buyer doesn't even know they have gone through as that so its worth contacting the buyer in case its something to do with a card being out of date or something. SO they meay be able to sort that one out

If the transaction is not eligeble for seller protection for whatever reason it only really matters if you are sending the items tracked. If not I can't see anything specific that you can refuse to sell but personally I cannot see any reason why you can't if its an expensive item and you will lose all protection

It clearly says "Seller protection: not eligible" next to "unconfirmed" (in red) by the address. :( I've been ripped off a few too many times lately for my liking so I'm feeling cautious!

ETA: I now think that it may be the case that it's not eligible until the payment clears, rather than because the address is unconfirmed, so I may be unduely worried.
