Help! Advice needed using New Water Boiler.
Options
Hi,
I would be very grateful if anyone can give me some advice. I have just moved into an apartment with a 'Range Tribune HE 150 Litre' direct water boiler installed in it. I am new to electric boilers, so can someone tell me how long we need to turn it on for per day? There is only 2 of us and we only have 2 showers a day at roughly the same time. We're not on economy 7 just the standard tariff.
We've been leaving it on all night then turning it off through the day. I'm not sure if it would be better to switch on an hour before we get showered? Some people have said it costs more to reheat the water so it should be on all the time but i'm not sure. Can someone advise please, can't find any info anywhere!
Also, there is 2 switches that can be turned on. One for a heating element at the bottom and one near the top of the tank. If someone could advise which to use and when then I will be very thankful.
regards,
Michael

Leaving it on all the time will be very much more expensive. Experiment and see how long you need to turn it on before showering, then get it set it up on a timer accordingly.
The top element will be for a quick boost, the bottom one will heat the whole tank.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
