My wife has a LTSB Duo Amex Credit Card and has had it since Nov last year with a limit of 2k, when would she be due a credit limit increase and what sort of limit increase would it be ?.
She spends around 1.5k per month and paid of each month by DD from a Lloyds Premier account.
Thanks.

6 months is the standard time to have the account before she could request an increase. At 1.5K spending each month, wouldn't be unreasonable to have a 3K limit - you'd be wanting a limit to allow 2 months spending on the card to deal with statement and payment dates without having to juggle your purchases between cards."A child of five could understand this. When the card issuer decides? Card issuers are far less likely to automatically increase credit limits than they were a year or two ago.NoOneReally wrote: »My wife has a LTSB Duo Amex Credit Card and has had it since Nov last year with a limit of 2k, when would she be due a credit limit increase
That would depend on the performance scoring system applied to the relationship.and what sort of limit increase would it be ?.
The easy way to find out, if an increase in limit is needed, is to pick up the phone and ask the card company. A bit radical, but more accurate than speculation on a forum thread.0 -
Call Phonebank. They should be able to tell if you can have an increase.0

What a logical answer - beats asking a bunch of random strangers on a internet forum that in reality don't know the answer

You can actually increase it online, but it says........
"If you've had your credit card less than six months or had your limit amended within the last six months, we may not be able to amend your credit limit at this time."
So as it is not quite 6 months I think its best left until they automatically increase it (If they do).0 -

She isn't neccessarily due an increase, in fact it could just as easily be decreased. It will all depend on your current personal circumstance and rating. Increases usually occur randomly at account review time which can be anything between 6-12 months after issue of the card. Most will not be increased.
There's only one way to find out for sure and that's to ask Lloyds directly whether online or by phone.0 -
Phonebank won't be able to increase the limit. The number you ring is at the top of every credit card statement.paulmcerlean wrote: »Call Phonebank. They should be able to tell if you can have an increase.0 -
