Where to buy wood?

Am enlarging my loft hatch next week with the help of my dad. I need 3x1 PSE, 4x2 rough and some 18mm ply for the hatch.

Where would be a good place to buy this? We have a Focus but everyone tells me they are expensive. How much should i be looking to pay? I need about 3 metres of 3x1, 2 metres of 4x2 and enough ply to make the hatch, suppose you can't buy it in small pieces?

They might be more expensive , but if you start travelling miles , to save a couple of pounds , won't make sense.
The amount of timber required . you won't save a fortune 'shopping' around.
Go for convenience, save time ...... go to focus.

There is money saving and there is being ridiculous. For that small amount of timber it would not be worth driving past the nearest place that has what you want. Whatever it is called.
