Climbing plants question....

I bought yesterday a Jasmine 'Revolutum' and a Honeysuckle 'Graham Thomas'. With the intention to plant the jasmine to climb up part of a garage wall as we have a wall that is for 3 garages running up one side of the garden and I was going to plant the honeysuckle a bit before this up a wooden fence so that eventually it could be grown along a trellis as we have nosy kids next door on their trampoline, arguing over our fence to our other neighbours girls on their trampoline(sorry went off the point), anyway once I got them home, my DH reminded me we maybe having a conservatory built in the summer with a patio as well which will go up to the areas mentioned. So my real question is, can I grow these in big patio pots for now, in the place where they will be with support until they can go into the ground after the work has been done, or will they grow too big for that? Or should I just place them where I want them and find a way to protect the base of the plants when the work gets done?

Sorry for the waffle, I'm not very green fingered but am desperate to have a better looking garden this year as well as growing my first veggies this year!
Thanks TF xx

I think they'll be fine in pots for the time being.. just put in some canes they can use to climb , even if you have to clip them back if they get too tall it won't matter . Once they go in the ground for real they will take off ..

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have a similiar question to ask, I too have got a jasmine, honeysuckle and also a hydrangea. They are currently in my conservatory in medium pots after replaced their original 9cm pot and are thriving at the mo, my transplanting hasn't seemed to kill them.
My plan was to put them in say 25-30cm pots and just lead them into the trellis from the pots rather than put them in the geround which is more like a gravel garden, would this be ok?? The previous owners have honeysuckle in slightly smaller pots going up the pergola and they have done very well, and are 2-3 metres high.
Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!
