Code for Ford Mondeo Radio

I have a 1999 Ford Mondeo and the Battery died last week. When the guy fitted a new one he said that I would lose the radio and then I would have to insert the code to make it operational again. I have spoken to my Ford dealer where I bought the car and they want to take the car in and spend half an hour doing this with the subsequent cost to me.

Has anybody any ideas where I could get a code and do it myself.

Hi,

This is a bit of a long shot, but if you have the original car manual there is a space (somewhere inside the front cover, I think) for the owner to write the code.

It's possible the car's first owner jotted it down there ... assuming that wasn't you :-)

The code relates to the serial number of the radio, usually starts in a C or an L and will be on a sticker on the top of the radio.. There are programs on the web available which work out the unlock code from the serial number. If you provide me with the serial number for it, I will run it through the program and give you the unlock code. There are also people on ebay offering this service for very little on buy it now's.

PM me the serial number off the back of the radio and the model of it and I should be able to help you - had a similar problem last year and was quoted from about £10-£200 to fix it.

Needless to say after about 6 hours of googling I found out how to do it myself!
