He has to be Bugs surely?:D
I have eight rabbits:o We have Pikachu, Bugs and "Ruck the Buck" (so named because we found him dumped at the rugby pitches), Specs (has black patches over her eyes), Rat-bag (who was called Honey until she proved to be the most aggressive rabbit ever), Grumpy (cos she grunts at you when feeding her), Thumper (cos you just have to have one called Thumper:D) and Scrum (the other one of the two found at the rugby pitches).
I also have a guinea pig called Miss Piggy:D"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -
Was going to post but amy104 has said it all!
90% hay/grass with only a small spoonful of pellets (NOT muesli, as they are selective with it) each day. This is SO important for their dental health; rabbits' teeth grow continuously and if they are not wearing them down with constant chewing on roughage their teeth can become overgrown, damaging their mouth and preventing them from eating.
Once the teeth are growing incorrectly they can never grow properly again and you are looking at regular dental treatment under general anaesthetic every 4-8 weeks for the rest of bunny's life - very expensive and definitely not good for the bunny. Never underestimate teeth problems in rabbits as they are all too often fatal.
The importance of diet is often underestimated so make sure you start your rabbit on a good diet while he is still young.
Also agree 100% with a companion - rabbits don't like to live by themselves. Have fun with him.
EDIT: just realised, after my opening sentence, that I have posted anyway. Sorry! LOL0 -
I wondered if I could get a little advice please. Yesterday afternoon I brought two mini lop rabbits, 8 weeks old. They've settled in fine, eating and drinking well. I put a bowl of food and hay for them to eat when I first got them, and this morning all of the food has gone, so i've put more in, which they have eaten straight away. Should I give them more? I don't want to over feed them, but don't want to starve them. Also any help with names?? They are both boys! Thanks in advance!0

My bunny Hugo will eat all the food if I give him it continually so therefore he gets pellets in the morning. Hay continually all day and he gets some fresh stuff a 5pm - He know it 5 and gets quite narky if we forget to give it on time and go to the frdge to sort out our dinners LOL
goodluck with your new ediitons. xEleventh Heaven no 710 - we can all dream0 -

You want to aim to give your rabbits about an egg cup full of pellets each per day then the rest of the day they need free access to as much hay as they will eat. The importance of this has already been mentioned in posts above. Insufficient hay in their diet can also lead to a condition called GI stasis, which can prove fatal.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

awww chas and dave !
peter has settled in very well , he loves hopping about the garden , he comes out for a couple of hours a day but i am feeling very guilty putting him back in his hutch !
shall i get a run for him ? his hutch is on concrete and the way my garden is laid out means i can't attach it to his hutch and have the run on the lawn iyswim
i could have the run seperate to his hutch and put him in while i am at home , when i go to work i will still put him away , just means he will probably get longer out doors as i won't have to keep checking
he is eating plenty of hay , and i put a small bowl of pellets in every morning .. he needs a bowl of water though as he won't drink from the bottle !
will he learn how ?
and he loves carrots but baby spinach is he favourite£608.98
