Unmarried couple going to Tunisia. Will we be allowed to share a room?

Hiya guys
I have just booked 11 nights in Monastir. My boyfriend is English and I am Portuguese. I have read some reviews that unmarried couples are not allowed to share hotel rooms. Is this likely to be the case for us? Any imformation will be very usefull as I am getting abit worried :(

Tell them your married. Get a pair of fake cheap gold rings if your really worried. Tell them you kept your Maiden name when you got married.

My partner and I have been twice before, and have just booked for this year too, have always shared a room and no one has ever said anything. I'm booked in as a Miss and him as a Mr so it's very clear we are unmarried.
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D
  • I think with countries like that you are not able to share a room if you are from that country and you are not married. I know someone who has now married an Egyptian guy, who was brought up in the UK for most of his life, but they could not stay in a hotel room together in Egypt whne visiting his relatives until they were married. As you are only tourists the same rules don't usually apply :D

Put it this way. If you are lazing on the beach and see 2 deep holes being dug in the sand and someone collecting rocks, don't hang about.
  • I've been to Tunisia before I was married 2 different surnames, we shared a room without even considering it could be a problem. There were plenty of other couples like us there don't even worry about it. You are tourists they want your cash!

Actually i find British tourists to be the worst of all. When i am abroad i often cringe when i hear an English accent.
