How much would installing double-glazing add to a 3 bed house?

Hi all,
Just trying to value a house I am looking at. House was bought in 2007 and the vendors installed double glazing throughout.
9 windows and a set of patio doors with 10 year guarantee.
I've got no idea how much these would be worth to the value - any ideas?

There is perhaps £5k's worth of glazing there, but you avoid the inconvenience of fitting it yourself. DG will probably only last 20 years before needing replacement anyway.0

General opinion is that the cost of the installation exceeds the added value. But if it is something you would want to do yourself and its already done, it saves you and so is worth more to you than the notional added value.
Without knowing sizes etc I'd estimate £500 per window as their cost. So if it cost them £6k it may add £3k in value????I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We purchased our house 5 yrs ago and the double glazing/doors are starting to fail so make sure they were installed by a reputable company and the guarantee carrys over to the next vendor etc. It looks like we are going to have to replace at least 2 of our units and 2 doors at added cost to us.Credit card and overdraft at 18. 2 loans and 3 storecards at 20. University education flushed down the toilet through debt at 22. Car finance at 23. Car repossessed at 24. Rock bottom at 25. Learnt my lesson 26-33. Now 34 with a mortgage on an affordable house, a car paid for with cash and a bank account in credit. I learnt the hard way.0

Most house improvements add value to about the same extent as the cost of doing them. Less if they are a style decision, of negligible value or in some way depreciating. Very few developments actually create extra value, often only those that rectify serious problems that pre-existed (like asbestos) or those that create extra property space.
Double glazing I would suggest like the others is worth about it's cost, maybe a little less on average but if the buyer wants it for certain then it should be nearer full cost.0 -

I wouldn't even consider a house without it, so it is probably more the sellability than the value that is affected.Been away for a while.0

If the previous was original hardwood sash windows in a period property then how much value has been knocked off the property?A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
