Lloyds Tsb - Spying on me???

Hello everyone, i have been on a DMP for almost 2 years now and am slowly cutting down my debt, however, as i have seen quite regularly on here, Lloyds tsb are a nightmare to deal with, and infact i now owe more on my loan,cc and od than i did 2 years ago.

recently my mil gave us 10,000 (loan, not gave!) to offer full and final settlement offers to our creditors. some have accepted and am awaiting answers from everyone else.

anyhoo, to get back to what i originally wanted to talk about......

CCCS (our dmp company) have sent 2 letters this week saying that lloyds will no longer accept our dmp payment due to "recent customer spending" ???
what on earth could this mean?
We have a halifax current account, are halifax and lloyds connected in some way? can lloyds see that i have 10 grand sat in my bank or that i have just paid nationwide 800 quid in settlement?

am sooooo confused, i would phone cccs but they are closed at weekends and i cant stop thinking about this.

Can someone please shed some light????
thank you......

Not great at this advice malarky, I'm usually the one asking for help, but weren't HBOS taken over my Lloyds TSB?

If so thats probably why they know so much.

yep Halifax-Bank of Scotland (HBOS) are now part of Lloyds banking group.
Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard

It is a difficult one this one. Firstly as you are no doubt aware Lloyds and Halifax are in bed with eachother, so I'd move the money elsewhere. Secondly they have probably been made aware of changes to your credit record - which will now show that the Nationwide account is settled. I wasn't aware that they did this until I was recently reading a finance mag. How many of these cards have you got??

    ahhhhh man, thats so annoying!!
i have got a lloyds cc which i owe £5000 a lloyds loan which i owe £2300 and a lloyds overdraft that i owe £1220. we have just settled our nationwide od at 300 and our nationwide cc at 800, these were lovely to deal with in comparison.

would lloyds be able to take money straight from our halifax bank then?? this scares the hell out of me! :(

HBOS and Lloyds systems aren't yet integrated so Lloyds staff can't see info in Halifax accounts and vice versa. That's why you can't pay stuff into a Lloyds account from a Halifax branch.

What they may have seen from a credit check maybe is that you have just settled an account with Nationwide?

I would say that they could, but as they are run as separate banks - unlikely. Personally I wouldn't take the risk. Are you still paying interest on your other loans with Llloyds?

i think im just paying minimal interest on the loan, they have offered me a 1600 settlement, but at the time it asa bit more than i could afford, i offered them 1100 which the refused and basically laughed at!! altho, now, i am quite tempted to ask for the 1600 now just to get rid of it. really dont want to deal with lloyds anymore, esp if they can get hold of my halifax account

Do you have a local credit union? I'd be thinking of putting it there.
