I posted on here yesterday about my sister in Law and and her DFS sofa, She had ordered it way before christmas, I think November and it came in begining of FEB but after they unloaded a section was missing so she was promised this would come from China but they couldnt say how long so she then had the cheque cancelled and adjusted to the new amount so she paid only for what she had and waited,
Six weeks later she was told it was here and had spent three weeks sat at docks, we live 30 miles from the docks, They wanted to deliver this tues, she said she couldnt as she cant get the time off work so they said it will be two weeks then. She got irate so they said a staff member would deliver it after she finished work at 6, so at 6.15 came the phonecall.. she was held up as store was busy and would call when she was setting off, 8.30 still nothing...9.30 yesterday night Finally...........Sofa missing part horaay!!
My sis in law did tell me yesterday she just couldn.t see an end to it, and she was right,
When it came in it was soon apparent that the catches on the side that bolt it to the other sections were not in line with the original section, Where does she stand? because I can see this dragging on and the DFS lady last night said she doubted that my sister in law would get a refund, When she asked about them knocking some money off for the delays they said no because sofa is already discounted, I thought all DFS sofas entered the world already discounted.
And when does discounted stand for Bad Service and no appologies, I know that DFS changes its range constantly so Im beginning to wonder if the part she needs isn,t made at the same time as the part she has then how all that way over in china will we ever get one to fit?
Surley in my eyes that classes it as not as described and not fit for purpose, and an unreasonable amount of time to wait?
why should she have to wait another six weeks for another one that still may not fit.
Last night she said she wished it was a van that had turned up because she would have thrown the lot back at them,
Im going with her today to the store to argue it out but I dont know the law enough to know what I should be pushing for,
They seem to have little clauses on the site that sound like get out of jail free lines.
DFS shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver products or otherwise perform any obligation as specified in these terms and conditions if the same is wholly or partly caused whether directly or indirectly by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
