I really dislike spending money I don't need to. However my two luxuries are decent shampoo and earl grey tea. If you watch the tips on here closely you can still get your 'luxuries' at a reasonable price. I love Toni and guy shampoo and conditioner. It is normally £4.99 for 250ml - very expensive! A few months ago Boots had two toni and guy products for £7. I got two of the big one litre bottles of shampoo and conditioner, so two litres for £7. This worked out at about 85p per 250 ml. Much better!

Should add that I bought a year's supply of above and managed to get lots of points on the spend as did it on triple points plus extra points from machine.

there are some things i won't go basic on, shampoo and other toiletries is the main ones. i have very sensitive skin (eczema etc) and have to be careful about what i use. i also colour my hair a lot and so it needds the extra care from a good shampoo. the good news is even before i was dfw i was savvy about only buying in bogofs etc. i've got the huge tresemme bottles at the mo, £3.59 each, i got it bogof. bought the conditioner but don't use it often so i pinched another dfw's tip and use it to shave my legs...never seen them look so darned good and smooth! :rotfl:

I once got a fantastic bargain in Boots on Trevor Sorbie shampoo etc, my DD has long mega curly hair and she loves the products as she can actually do something with her hair after using them. I got 27 x £5 ( minimum) products for £1 each, they were clearing the shelf to make room for Christmas stuff. She still has a boxfull and they don't go off .

Moneysaving isn't always about buying the cheapest stuff it's getting what you want for the best price!

someone mentioned it in the hints and tips sticky (iirc!), they were saying cheap stuff tho, thought i'd give it a go cause i only use conditioner once every couple of weeks, so it just sits in the shower looking untidy! my legs certainly feel soft and not as dry as when i use shower gel (far too tight to pay for shaving gel!). give it a shot and see what you think!
