Egypt - shorter nile cruise

Hello all,
I'm would like to go to Egypt at some point in the future and would like to do a nile cruise to see some of the main sights. However I was reading around and it looks like while there are many many temples and such there are no pyramids in this area (is that right?!) and that they are located closer to Cairo.
So is there a company that does 5 night nile cruise? I can only find 7 nights or longer.
I was thinking of a shorter nile cruise, a couple of nights in/near Cairo and then a week by a beach somewhere.
This would cover everything I think.
Would it be too much to squeeze into two weeks?
Thanks

longwood travel do a 4 day Nile cruise and you could easily do the 4 day cruise covering Luxor and Edfu then a couple of days in Cairo to do the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx, the muesum, islamic and coptic cairo and Saqqara.
Then on to a red sea resort for a weeks sea and snorkling or if you want to do more sight seeing you could head up to taba and combine the second week with a mix of lazing on the beach and day trips to Petra and Israel.0 -
Thanks, i'll give them a google

Anyone else?0 -
A few years ago I did a 5 day cruise but it was all organised independently. I booked through this company http://www.isistravel.com/index.htm and paid $30 per day. The other passengers were all with British package companies.0

Hi
If you did a 7 day Nile cruise you could still squeeze in the pyramids and a couple of days by the Red Sea all in 14 days.
I did a Nile cruise and a holiday by the Red Sea about 2 years ago. I suggest you look at this website called bestatcruises.com as we booked with them and they offer various packages which include a Nile cruises, pyramids and the Red Sea.
Good luck with booking your holiday and enjoy the planning. Even if you do end up doing the 4 day Nile cruise be warned that you'd wish you did the 7 day! There is nothing more relaxing then visiting wonderful temples by midday and spending the afternoons and the evenings on board the boat cruising on the Nile, reading, drinking, sunbathing and lounging by the pool watching the world go by. There is so much that goes on on the banks of the Nile, you see all sorts of people and children, you hear the prayer calls coming from the Mosques, it's suprising how lush and green the Nile banks are. I would do the Nile cruise all over again just to experience the relaxation of being on the boat, feeling the warmth of the sun yet the breeze due to the boat sailing and just watching the sights go by.0 -
Oh thats interesting. Are most of the excursions in the morning? I had visions of being out all day everyday for a week and needing a week toi recover from all the sightseeing but if afternoons are chilled out on the boat i might be convinced to do a 7 day one.0

If you go in our summer months then the trips will be quite early in the morning before if starts to get too hot.
I speak from experience and there is no way you want to be walking around the valley of the kings after mid morning in the hottest months.0
