we had a homebase kitchen fitted about 6 months ago and we're really pleased with it. Like you, we choose the Como one.
We bought the units, worktops and handles from Homebase.
We then bought all the appliances from appliances-online as they were a lot cheaper.
I built all the units, and then we then got a local fitter to fit as it was a lot cheaper than homebase.
And one last thing, I notice someone commented that the units dont have soft close doors - i think all units now come with this as standard so dont worry!
If you got anymore questions about this kitchen, let me know or pm me and I'll see if i can help

We have the shaker cream kitchen that you have posted and we're more than happy with it. We've had it for a year now, we've had no problems with it and it still looks as good as new. Homebase, B&Q and Wickes kitchens are all much of a muchness and similar in price. Whichever brand you choose the quality will be pretty similar. Also whoever stated that Homebase kitchens don't have soft close doors - that's not true as ours do!
• No. They are rubbish

We're still considering it all - some good options out there, and certainly differing opinions. Good to hear though that everyone who has actually bought one is happy with it, it's just the ones that haven't chosen Homebase kitchens that don't seem to approve. I guess that means that if we are happy with their price (which isn't very clear from the leaflets, so I'd need to ask them), then it would be fine.

Plenty of time, so will consider other options too. Thanks all for your help so far!

Ikea kitchen fan here!

Homebase seemed to be as confusing as B&Q etc, with pricing. Ikea are NOT into that sort of marketing, so at least you'll know how much you're budgeting for.

Also download their planner & design it yourself - it's fun & fiddly at first, but does work

You need someone with an account to order the kitchen, Howdens are happy to design and quote prices once they have done an initial quote through the account holder

You can get a rough estimate on prices on this site > http://www.topclasscarpentry.com/category/Howdens%20Kitchens/

They are obviously adding on a mark up so it will be alot cheaper than that site but will give a rough idea

Is this site current. Are the kitchens displayed there still available

Yes the site looks current, i can dig out our paperwork if you want a rough cost of carcases , they come ready built which is a big plus point.

Homebase quoted £2,800 for fitting our kitchen.

WE used a local firm on the recommendation of a number of colleagues. It kitchen worked out cheaper, as he threw in extras like pull out metal drawers in cupboards.

if you got for the homebase kitchens, dont be taken in by all that 50% sale and extra 30% off all doors.

get your kitchen priced up as per normal, but dont put the order in. wait for one of their 10% days, and then put your order in. thats what we did, and that is an actual saving rather than all the advertising !!!! that they come out with. The 10% savings normally come round every 6 weeks or so

Even with the extra 10% it was very expensive at Homebase for us anyway
