Excel problem, anyone help please?

:oI'm having a weird problem with a spreadsheet I have. When I built this it worked fine, it's basically for keeping track of finances and I had formulae to add up columns and rows. Have had it for months and now when I go to change it, the formulae are not working ie if I change a figure it won't change the total. Can't find an answer to this from the Office Assistant and it's likley something silly. Can anyone help? TIA

    It sounds like it is not automatically calculating.

    How to resolve it will depend on your version of Excel but from memory F9 will make it calculate as a one off and the automatic calculation is in tools options.

    Thank you Magpiecottage, have messed around and it looks like it might be ok. Don't know what I'd done to change it. was working fine, changed a figure and viola, a new total. This is the problem when you only know a little about a lot!!:beer:

    Try Tools/Options/Calculations and turn automatic calculation or if it's Excel 2007, go to Excel Options, Formulas and select Automatic.

    It's weird, I have noticed that some of my spreadsheets at work have automatic calculations turned off.
