Court Ruled in our favour, now what?

Hi all,
we have recently won a court case against a builder who did some shoddy work on our house, and now has to pay us £2000 (plus court costs). The builder didnt attend the hearing and has totally ignored the letter from the court telling him to pay us the money, I understand that the onus to recover the money falls on us, but what I am unsure about is how we go about this. I think we will probably go down the route of instructing a court bailiff to go and see him, but do I write a letter to him (the builder) first, saying something like "please contact us within 2 weeks, or else we will take action to recover our money" or do we just steam ahead with the bailiffs?
Does anyone have any experience/ideas of how we should go about this?
Thanks in advance

Just go ahead with the bailiffs, he's already had plenty of opportunity.0
