Been charged twice for one item

I have just bought a couple of items in Boots. I haven't that long got home and have just looked at my receipt. According to this receipt, I have bought 2 lots of something - I only have one lot of that.

I know it's all well & good me going back there and telling them this; but how do I prove it? The item is still in the bag and hasn't been opened yet.

You can't prove it - but Boots will probably accept that its their error and do you a refund. I guess you will have to go in and tell them whats happened and hope that they believe you - they probably will as most companies know that mistakes do happen and they will welcome the chance to put it right for you. A happy customer is much better for them than one thats telling their friends what a shower Boots are!!!

  • Take the receipt back tomorrow and tell them what's happened and that you didn't notice until you got home - they'll just do the normal refund procedure and give you the money back. I'd be very surprised if they made a fuss. How much we talking?

  • They won't make any fuss over four quid - take the receipt back and explain.
