Why not end the auction??

just looking on ebay now, and a few times I come across certain things that say sold in the title.
Looking at the description it says they have sold elsewhere etc like this one...why not end the auction rather than just edit the auction?
Anyone know why they do this?

They seem to be a new seller, their feedback is made up from items they have purchased and have only got one feedback from selling something back in April 2009, it may be that they are not aware/don't know how to end the listing.0
