the pic was from the KM website (perhaps alarm bells should have rung there)

Don't keep kicking yourself, the fact that the pic was from the KM website doesn't indicate anything...maybe seller doesn't have a good camera/couldn't make it look good/wanted to take the easy option/used ebay's new "catalogue" facility (though I'm not entirely sure it's up and running yet?) I'm sure you won't be £60 down, as Cyberbob said, depending on what you have said in your message to the seller, you can go down the SNAD route if the quality is not up to scratch and the seller isn't helpful.

Have you checked her feedback to see the auction where she won it? You would be able to see what the seller said in their listing about the dress, also you can search items that a bidder has bid on/won using the search facility and that would show who she bought it from if it was recent, also to see if she genuinely bought it.

Hi too much debt, Yes tried that but think she must have bought on another account? Have posted the same question on a ebay group on Karen Millen fakes and one of the ladies there said she could see that the seller had bought from a well know fake seller. I have asked her how she foud that out as I cant fathom it? am waiting to hear back.

Researching what she has bought would be helpful, it would give an insight into who she bought it from, what she paid for it, how it was described, what feedback she left for it etc (and why she couldn't return it to the original seller for a refund?) However it may be that she bought it on a different account

Hi Kestrel, She seems to have bought a few cheapy dresses and things for iphones/wii's so I cant work out how the lady on the ebay group knew straight away where she bought it from unless I am being really stupid (which is entirely possible!) The message I sent was along the lines of Hi, sure you havent noticed but this isnt a KM dress. I didnt use the word fake/copy just said that it was definatley not a KM dress, and could the contact me to discuss. Do you think that sounds ok?

Eureka! Just worked it out she bought from a seller who has sold loads of these dresses and has 3 negs for them being fake with the follow up feedback on each saying that they are genuine! I have just discovered Goof bay its a real lightbulb moment!

Just heard from the seller, said she had no idea that the dress wasnt what she thought it was and to send back for a full refund, I am so relieved! Am I right in thinking that as I paid £60 for the dress I need to send it special delivery rather than recorded?

Yes, you have to return it by a means that guarantees tracking which recorded does not, so special delivery would definitley be the way to go.

Thanks Emby, just need to work out how to get the sellers address now. I have emailed her early yesterday morning but she hasnt replied yet. Think I may try and call ebay to ask, I will just double check the website first!

If she doesn't respond you can always request her details from ebay, that way you should get a telephone number for her.
