It should be on your contract with the nursery as they are not allowed to give you the info regarding their registration in any other way. Ofsted are very strict about childcare providers giving out this information to tax credit claimants. Has your child already started at the nursery?0

He starts on Tuesday. I'll have to wait then, I just wanted to get it sorted ASAP, you know what it's like, so little money spare at the moment.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0

you could try here,
http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/oxcare_providers/list
i have done a quick search and nothing came up but there is a box on the left hand side where you can put in your postcode, it may bring it up that way,
hope this helps

Think mumof2wonderfulkids was referring you to ofsted's website. You need to do a search using your postcode. They will probably fall under the 'Childcare on non domestic premises' heading with the register being Early Years.

Nothings ever straight forward is it. The ofsted site was pretty useless. It brought up nothing for my postcode at all, i tried another in the area and it still didn't bring up any nurseries.
I also tried the other link and it's for childcare n England and I'm in Wales so I'm searching around for our alternative.
Thanks all.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -
sorry, but even if you get their details, you cant tell tax credits until your child is actually at the nursery, so not until Tuesday at the earliest. I'm a childminder and give out all my details on signing of contracts but parents cannot do anything with them until the day the child starts with me. Even if you try and ring tax credits the night before, they wont accept it as the childcare must already be in place before a claim is made. Its a real pain for parents, and for me, as it takes a week or so for 1st payment to be made x
PS its deliberately very difficult to find out Ofsted numbers online to stop tax credit fraud, if you could easily get the Ofsted numbers then anyone could claim for childcare they weren't actually using IYSWIM x0
