printer for heavy paper

Does anyone know of a photo printer which will take heavier papers? My Epson will print happily up to 250 gms papers, but it's sprockets wont accept anything heavier, and I have a really good selection of the heavy weight photo papers that I would love to try.
Epson tell me that their really expensive printers (£300 +) would do the job, but having just blown the budget on a Nikon 5000, theres not a lot left in there!
I have always used Epson printers, so must now rely on the gang out there to dig out another brand! Cannon, HP, Lexmark? anyone have any reccomendations? I can go to about £100, and dont need the scanner thingy, just a good photo printer.
