Our experience with London and Country...

My other half and I have just exchanged contracts on our first house (yay) and we got our mortgage through London and Country. I read about them the main site here at MSE and gave them a go, and about half way through the process I decided to look up other people's experiences on this forum (which at the outset I hadn't begun browsing).
I was kinda worried to see most of the posts seemed quite negative, and just hoped we'd be lucky. I later read some one mention that people will always rant about a bad experience but will likely say very little publicly about a good experience. So I thought I would!
We had a fantastic service from them, the advice was fluent and clear, very understandable for first time buyers and those unfamiliar with jargon. Our adviser was very friendly and very helpful and found us a great deal (I've tried and tried to find a better one out of curiosity and not come anywhere near) and our case manager was efficient and brought about a quick conclusion to the whole thing. The whole service felt safe and personal. They dealt with almost every step of the way, all we had to do was provide the necessary information and documents when requested.
It was sometimes quite hard to get hold of our case manager, but if we left a message he'd always call back, sometimes in 5 minutes sometimes a couple of hours but always returned the call. Due to the nature of our jobs sometimes it's very hard to get hold of me and at other times it's very hard to get hold of my fiance, but L&C would always contact one of us immediately when needed and leave a message with the other keep both me and her in the full picture at all times. Even when the lender threw the odd spanner into the works L&C sorted it out no problem and caused us minimal stress and pressure.
Big thumbs up to L&C!

I would like to agree with you on that. We used them about 3 years ago and found them to be very good indeed. You are spot on with them calling back if you leave a message, I run a small business and am on the phone to lots of different companies all day and nothing annoys me more than people not calling back after messages being left.
I heard that for every 10 people who receive good service 1 person will tell someone else but if 1 person receives bad service they will tell 10 people.
Thinking about remortgaging and will definitely be using L&C again0 -

I'm using L+C at the moment and can echo the positive comments above. The deal they have found us is exclusive to them and two other whole of market brokers and other online sites can't come anywhere near it. Service has been fantastic so far and I can't fault it at all.
Like all things you only hear the negatives and not the positives.....0 -

How told you about about the other 2 brokers?0 -
...agreed.
What is wrong with L&C to make people disbelieve an honest post of praise. Have others had bad experiences with them and would I be stupid to use them again for my remortgage?
I am thinking of using them in the next week or so (see my post asking for advice) but may think again depending on how this thread goes. I have only ever had 1 mortgage and got it using L&C so have nothing to compare them to.
Please post any problems or good dealings with L&C here or any alternative brokers that I should use.
Thanks0 -

We used L&C for our mortgage 3 years ago and are coming up to remortgaging. I have had 2 emails and a hard copy letter form L&C informing me I'm due to remortgage and inviting me to contact my consultant there who handled our mortgage before. I have since called him MANY times and always get his answerphone - left countless messages and sent emails. I thought perhaps he had left the company - so called them direct to be told no he hasn't left and I was only able to speak to him because he was handling our case. This has been going on for 2 months and now I have given up on them. Utter rubbish.0
