There's another trick you can use. Sign up at spamgourmet.com and give a different email address for each company. Say ebay.to.angelic@spamgourmet.com and amazon.to.angelic@spamgourmet.com. If you get an email from your bank and it's to one of those two addresses you can be 100% certain that it's a phishing attempt because your bank wouldn't have any reason to use an address that you've only given to amazon or ebay.

They aren't genuine so please don't fall for it. I've checked and the name is flagged up on so many sites it's silly. This thread isnt about the view your statememnts emails as knew they were a scam but today's email looked genuine and was just a long , boring list of changes.

I haven't opted out of receiving paper statements and never would

The ones I get from Natwest only state the fact that my statement for acct ending **** is ready to view online. I ususally delete them straight away, but haven't noticed any links on them. I would go throught the web address to view it anyway just as a precaution.

Why not check out ICONIX. A way to verify that an e.mail is geniune.
  • I started sending suspicious emails to phishing@natwest.com but they became too numerous to keep up with and now I just delete anything I get.

I get emails from Natwest saying I have a new statement ready, but I just delete them and never click on any links.

I guess they are a little more sophisticated than the usual "You are sole benefactory of my $10,000,000 fortune,...." type emails!

I don't receive paper statements, but get t&c changes through the post - they always send a booklet.

    Me too.
