Hello didn't know where to post this so thought I would ask here. My license plate light is broken and I don't have time to get it fixed at the moment, is it illegal to drive without it?

It would fail on a MOT

Obviously this is only going to be an issue if you drive after dark.

Its a 5 minute job to replace, surely you can squeeze it in ;)

Your post doesn't match your thread question.

Were you pulled over already or are you asking if you WILL be pulled over?

If you are driving a taxi round here it's almost compulsory to have a number plate light out but officially all lights where fitted should be in working order and it can be used as a reason to stip you. If you are stopped you will probably get a producer and so will have to spend time taking all your docs to the police station, the excuse of not having time to get it fixed is a bit lame.

    Its all about visibility.

I was pulled over once as my plate was too dirty to read, (dont ask!)

You'll be fine in daylight hours unless it's dreich, but as someone said, why not fix; it's 2 minutes.

What do you mean you don't have the time? Its a two minute job, just do it and save yourself any hassle.

You could have fixed it in the time that you took to post this, so you do have time.;)

It will be about 50 pence for a bulb and 5 minutes 'if that' to change it. Like inactive said it would be quicker to change it than you did to post this :)
