First Direct

Hi,
I'm interested in opening a First Direct current account but unfortunately my salary does not reach the amount needed to avoid a monthly charge.
Does anyone know if it would be ok to set up a monthly transfer from another bank to cover the difference and then transfer it back to original bank next day ?
Thanks for any help.

yes, you could legitimately do that.
or you could just open up a savings account and bung a couple of quid into it - their terms state that they don't charge the fee if you hold another product with them.0 -
Thanks.
If I do the transfer from another bank will that also qualify me for the £100 switching incentive?0 -
I think you have to pay your £1,500 salary in for 3 months to get the £100
I didn't meet the free banking threshold when they started it, but just opened an e-savings account with £1 of savings and that kept them happy.
They are as good as they say they are, but watch out for their high OD fees...0
