I want a Seagate so may I ask where? Apparently Seagate's come with software to easily back up data.
globalds link and code for Tesco is great because they have a few Seagate's but not for the same price:(0 -
not a particularly good price even for a 'premium' brand.... if you don;t need it immediately/today shop around for better0

thanks globalds, I have just ordered one from tescos for collection using your code and it checks out at £54.97 like you said:beer: and the hitachi is a better known brand..0

I prefer to have a number of smaller capacity drives rather than one biggy.
Rather than buy a 1tb 3.5 inch external drive, perhaps you should consider geting 2 x 500gb 2.5 inch external drives.
They are more compact, can be USB powered and if one fails you still have the other.
3.5 inch drives require a power supply and a mains point.
Shop around and you won't have to pay much more than for a single drive.0 -
I got a seagate 1tb drive in the sale from amazon for £64.30. Its great as it doesn't need any extra software, you just drag and drop files onto it, (although I do use windows 7 backup/disk imaging with it too).0

You'll probably find that this is one of the Medion external disk drives "HDDrive2Go" which fits their peculiar eSata interface connection at the top of their system unit cases, as well as having a USB interface. No obvious reason for buying one of these if you don't have a Medion PC (and maybe not even then, because of the additional cost)...joan_brennan wrote: »hi, I am not sure if this is a good make or not. Size isn't everything Custardy.thats what i do,except i look on the 1TB's as the smalll drives

To be honest, it won't be long before I agree with you. Most of my storage demands are my growing collection of music videos. I make my own from Sky+ TV broadcasts and also download them from the internet. Some of my HD video files are 500mb + just for one five minute song and a concert or opera can be 4gb to 10gb.
I have 500gb already and that figure is growing daily.0
