Size isn't everything Custardy.

To be honest, it won't be long before I agree with you. Most of my storage demands are my growing collection of music videos. I make my own from Sky+ TV broadcasts and also download them from the internet. Some of my HD video files are 500mb + just for one five minute song and a concert or opera can be 4gb to 10gb.
I have 500gb already and that figure is growing daily.
its HD video for me,its gobbles up hard drive space like nothing on earth
im thinking of (when i actually manage to have money for me) installing 2x2TB into this PC
coupled up with over 6TB of external drives
even now with some space available im running out.plus i dont have enough space to properly organise and catagorise stuff0 -
Do you ever get time to watch the videos?

A friend of mine has a sideline of filming and editing wedding and small corporate promotional dvd, all has to be HD.
He now gets home on a Saturday night with 00's of GBs to edit, he uses 2TB disks in the same way as I use 80GB drives.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

sorry to ask what maybe a silly question but is this suitable to use with a laptop to free up space?have tv shows/films/loads of music decreasing my pitiful 120gb as it is,wanna free up some space
if not suitable can anyone recommend something else?doesnt need to be on display or anything as im not in a permanent place with laptop, but something with around this capacity would be good
cheers0 -
any USB based external is suitable
if your laptop is old you may have usb 1 which will be a bit slower0
