"I really can't understand why you are stalling...?"
I would have thought that the reason I am stalling is obvious...if i dont get the payment due in 8 days and have to wait 1 week/1 month/1 year for the first payment of my new claim then who will feed/clothe and look after my children
but still thanks for all the help
I notified them last monday of a change in my circumstances.
The money was put into my account on Friday.
This was just a change of circumstance though.
But when I did change from a joint to a single claim i also remember that it didn't take much longer than a week to get sorted.
I would do it now rather than wait....I did mine now as I'd decided that will it almost being the end of the tax year they are just going to get busier and busier?Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
ive always found tax credits to be really helpful and fast at processing claims so try not to worry too much, the sooner you call the sooner they can get the right amount to you, mine has normally been a week so hopefully yours will be the same x0

I was in your position a year ago and it didn't occur to me to hold off informing anyone - I just wanted it all dealt with asap so I knew where I was.
I certainly didn't want the stress of an overpayment!
So, no, it's not obvious to me - that's why I asked!
But then I guess we are all different...0 -
