Shop Direct SAR

Hi,

I have three accounts with Shop Direct,(Marshall Ward, Littlewoods and Great Universal). My question is, do I have to send a SAR for each account seperately or can I just send one to cover all three accounts ?

Thanks in advance

Ju :)

One for all 3 accounts but make sure you put on the letter the accounts and who they are with ;)

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply NWSM, glad there are people like you on here as I would have probably ended up doing it seperately and costing myself more money. :)

One of the accounts has been bought by Lowells and I have wrote to them offering a payment arrangement, the others I have not paid anything into for about 3 months due to them being awkward about the payments I was offering and still adding charges etc. These have not been sent to/bought by a DCA yet but probably will be soon.

As I will be sending SAR to ShopDirect regarding these accounts would you advise paying something towards them while the SAR is ongoing or does sending the SAR put them into dispute ?

Sorry for all the questions but you seem to know your stuff and I would appreciate your advice.

    Thanks

I wouldn't be paying Lowells either until the dispute over the amount of the payment was resolved. Remember the accounts are in dispute until you have sorted out the charges. I would only continue to pay if I was certain the charges did not amount to more than the amount outstanding.

Sending a SAR does not put anything into dispute.

If you wish to dispute the charges on the account, you'll need to advise the company explaining why.

    Hi,

Ok, thankyou both, will probably pay token amounts until I have all the info I need and can send the claim letter. The amounts I will be claiming probably won't clear full balances but I am pretty sure that they will be a fair chunk off.

    Thanks for your help,

    Ju

In that case, then, keep paying for the time being because as you said, it won't clear all of the amount outstanding.
