There are loads of cheap ones try Ebuyer and go for the cheapest or would you rather have a reasonably priced one that was good quality?0

What sort of screen size are you after and what resolution do you want.
TFT screens seem to be getting cheaper all the time. A quick search on lambda-tek shows 3 entry level TN panel monitors which support HD video for just £115!

I just got a sweet deal over at dabs.com! .. not sure if it's classed as TFT though ..
I've been thinking of buying a widescreen LCD to replace my aging Samsung 15" that was starting to misbehave. There are loads to chose from of course , but I sort of took a fancy to this LG W2053TQ 20" Widescreen over at Amazon ... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002CJMTHE/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A16UGVVO7YJP8P which was about £120.
I was looking around for reviews of this beastie when I stumbled into dabs and noticed , purely by chance , they were selling of 2 as 'used stock' .. the cheapest of which was £65!! .. I snapped it up and with £9.99 got it the next day.
According to the description at dabs , 'the box had been opened for inspection' and the software disc was missing. As far as I can tell it's never been used , no dead pixels I can see , no marks on it at all (still had the protective plastic sheeting around it) , and the software disc was indeed in the box .. on top of that there was a DVI- lead in there too which was a nice surprise!!
It's on a 90 day waranty so if anything does go wrong I'm covered for a refund , I hope not though , coz it's a lovely monitor , and at £75 for a 20" widescreen that is a cracking deal!!
It certainly pays to shop around!0 -

It's definately "TFT" "thin film transistor" and covers various types of panel from consumer grade TN film panels (good for gaming) to the more expensive IPS panels (better colour so good for photo editing -eg imac etc), and PVA panels.0
