My husband bought house insurance online but then found I had got a better deal. He cancelled the next day but they said he had to pay £20 for administration because it said that in the t&cs. Is that right? Can they charge this? I thought everyone had a 14 day cool off period for anything bought online or by mail. H epaid by credit card. Can I grt my bank to not pay them?

Check the terms and conditions in the policy wording. It may be to your advantage - I think all my insurances came with the front page stating I had a period of time in which to check the policy met my requirements and if it didn't, to cancel.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
