I seldom use package tour companies because you can usually do it cheaper yourself. I did use Direct last year though to Lanzarote..they had by far the best deal around. Having worked for the MYT group a few years ago I can confirm that Direct is basically Mytravel without the price tag.

If you search for holidays on mytravel's website it brings up the direct holiday deals ( as well as panorama and manos ). Direct holidays are not always the cheapest.
Though for my departure next week they were . It was over £600 cheaper than the identical holiday through panorama ( the mytravel site brought up both).
Interestingly flight meals are £10 pp if its a direct holiday booking , but £12 if its one of the other companies. Even though its on the same flight !!

Note the prices go up and down regularly.. Also spaces seem to open up on flights that were not available a few days earlier. So keep checking.

The holiday i booked was was at £1049 total ( Sat afternoon flight) when i first looked then it came up at the same price but with a sat morning flight. A week later the prices dropped to £860 ( this is when i booked). A few days later the price went back up to £1060. A week after that the flight changed to a night flight and the price has slowly risen since then. Three weeks before departure was the cheapest time to book in my case.

we booked two hols thru this company this year and saved money by not paying for the flight meals (but still got them on outgoing and return flights on first holiday!!) and took off the transfers, on the 2nd hol we went back to the same place, long story, so we knew how far away it was from airport anyway wen we went back and instead of paying £15 X 3 people we paid 13 euros in a taxi X 2 ..bargain!

    happy holidays

We got the best price for our holiday this year with Direct holidays, it helped that we booked early & got two free child places, the exact same holiday would have cost us loads more with Airtours.
