Dell PSU

Greetings

I am enquiring on behalf of a friend who, like me, has a Dell Dimension 2400 (no jokes please!). He has already had a new PSU through the warranty from Dell and unfortunately has suffered another possible blowout with that unit.

Can anyone advise/help in pinpointing where one can get a similar unit or if possible a more powerful wattage that will fit the 2400. Does a higher spec PSU from a newer Dell PC fit this 2400 or perhaps where someone do sell them? The current PSU only pushes out a measley 200w and he's looking for a more powerful unit. Am aware that similar 200w units are found on EBay!

I have done a search in google and there seems to be a limited list of suppliers that supply these PSUs. I'm assuming that it just slots straight into the existing bay on the Dimension 2400?

Not sure if it still applies but in the past Dell PSU's were not following the standard wiring of PC's, so if you put another one in it wouldnt work or harm the PC
