If you still have problems come back with some questions?
  • Hi i tired that and still no good, what options do i have? im running out of ideas, do i need to buy a new hd??
  • No you don't but you will need to re-load all your software systems etc. Sorry to hear this but did you have anti-virus protection? If not, make sure you get one when you start over (some good free antivirus available on the web).

I doubt it, not yet any way.

Can you give us some more information, desktop, laptop, make, age, Xp, Vista etc.

    Do you have back/recovery up CD's ?

Is there any document, photos, data on the disk you need?

    wireless keyboard?

If you have really reinstalled windows, it's unlikely to be a virus.

Start it up in safe mode with networking (f8 at boot), install malwarebytes, and do a scan.

There is absolutely no reason to by a new hard disk because of a virus.

post more symptoms, it boots, and ?

Have you tried downloading Malwarebytes from here if you cannot download try going to to safe boot with networking ( press F8 repeatedly when you PC reboots) and try from there.

virus should not be there after a format and reinstall

are you sure you did not just do a restore point from an earlier date or an XP repair install ??
