Recycling envelopes

Options
Does anyone remember those labels Oxfam used to sell so you could easily recycle envelopes? You just folded the label over the opened edge and it would cover the old address and postmark.

I wonder if they still exist. It's a lot neater than sellotape and tippex. :D

I'm so glad you posted this, because about a fortnight ago I strolled into my local Oxfam shop to buy some and couldn't find them. I asked the two women at the counter and they looked at me as if I'd just landed from Mars and climbed out of a spaceship! I knew I wasn't imagining them. I don't know where you can get them now, I have a feeling the Woodlands Trust did some once upon a time? If you find any please post and let me know.

Yes! I seem to recall a green tree logo. Or was that the paper recycling symbol?

I have a pad of the Friends of the Earth labels and they seem to be lasting me for ever! They have a good sized space available for the name and address - some of these labels use up lots of space with their logo and stuff leaving very little room to actually write the name and address.

But surly the actual ammount of paper and gum used in these 'eco-friendly' labels, combined with their actual cost is more than a new Envelope???

Sorry - I don't see the benefit of these - you're using as much paper, processing, gum and money to achieve the same result as a new envelope?!?

Just buy a new recycled paper envelope.
