I have a 40% deposit, yet despite being in the top 6% of earners, can still only afford a !!!!!! 3 bed semi.
Can only afford?? Only?? A '!!!!!! 3 bed semi' is something I (and probably many others) would consider myself very lucky to be able to afford!! You don't sound too hard done by, compared to many others. :eek:marlasinger0 -
Some folks just can't grow up.
Its a shame because while I don't find the language offensive personally I do feel the people who use it to try and ...add weight...... to a sensible discussion somewhat more so.
I just don't see why all the same points can't be raised with consideration to other posters and readers who do find post watershed language distasteful.0 -

I think he problem here is a the personal way we all approach this situation...and I don't see ho it can be avoided.
It is more worrying that top 6% earners can't by a fairly average home than it is that a particular person with limited vocabulary and a singular lack of charm and proportion cannot.0 -
mbga9pgf,
So you could afford a 3 bed semi - but choose not to buy. I think a 3 bed semi as a FTB is pretty good, but if you don't want to buy then don't, but stop moaning about it. Why aren't you buying?
Because you think prices will fall and want to cash in on other people's misery?
Because you don't want to spend your hard earned money on a mortgage?
Because its cheaper for you to rent?
Because your happier to live in a cheap rental than buy a larger house?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I [STRIKE]don't believe [/STRIKE]worry that a top 6% earner can have such a limited vocabulary and a lack of charm and no sense of proportion.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. trimmed for oil on waters purposes.
sadly I believe it very possible. I have been stunned by some of the people I have met in corporate situations. Their lack of anything that sets them apart for positive reasons can be truly dispiriting. I believe this is becuse we have all lost a little proportion in UK about what is socially acceptable and what excuses should and shouldn't be acceptable. But that's a whole other argument.0 -

We are where we are because the 'older' generation are a bunch of filthy self serving greedy c*nts and have borne little thought for later generations in their decisions.
LOL! You have problems that span much further than the affordability of a house my friend.0 -
