There are numerous download managers available. I've used Free Download Manager for many years.

Not got Nvidia ethernet drivers by any chance? was a corrupt official driver going round a while back which gave me the same problem.... not bothering with (uninstalling) the Nvidia ethernet driver and using the built in windows generic one fixed it for me

There is an incredibly slim chance that the modem/router is causing the problem. Are you able to try with another?

Or try connecting a laptop to the existing router to see if the problem happens then too.

If the problem is only recent, try going back to a restore point from a few weeks ago to see if that fixes anything.

Final stupid suggestion - check the date/time on the machine. I spent ages trying to get a system to work properly before I realised my daughter had accidentally changed the date to 2 months in advance. Everything from MSN to anti-virus was up the spout!!

  • There is no general method of determining if a file downloaded by FTP or HTTP (without SSL/TLS) is corrupted, so if you are getting "corrupt file" errors for all types of file downloaded by these means then they are not caused by a network problem.

What files have you tried to download?
How are you trying to download them?
At what stage of the download do you get the error?
What is the exact error message?
