I have a old Dataflex dialler i got some years ago thats programmed to dial 18866 which isn't so cheap anymore, I wondered if anyone knows if these can be reprogrammed to dial 18185 or what would be the cheapest dialler that could do it, I dint need anything fancy just dial the prefix.

I'm not familiar with Dataflex diallers and am wondering whether it's the same as the old Orchid V2, which was badged a few different ways. If so, I could let you have a pdf of the instructions if you PM me an email address.I have a old Dataflex dialler i got some years ago thats programmed to dial 18866 which isn't so cheap anymore, I wondered if anyone knows if these can be reprogrammed to dial 18185 or what would be the cheapest dialler that could do it, I dint need anything fancy just dial the prefix.
BTW, for calls to UK 01 and 02 numbers, 18866 charges 5p per call regardless of duration (exactly the same as 1899 and 18185).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

My father had a Dataflex dialer years ago, supplied by British Gas for their telephone service. I replaced it with an Orchid V4 and brought the Dataflex home to investigate. I established the manufacturers could reprogram it (for a fee), but only for 1 predial, and no clock etc, so I ditched the Dataflex. I have now inherited the Orchid V4 as a spare, what's it worth?0

The last retail price (before Orchid sold off their remaining stock) was £15.99 (£12.79 after the MSE 20% discount) but demand may now have increased that substantially.I have now inherited the Orchid V4 as a spare, what's it worth?
However, if you use a V4 yourself, I'd recommend keeeping the other. That's what I'm doing with my spares.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
