switching banks

Is there any drawback to switching banks? Such as getting mortgages or loans?
I have been with Barclays for 28 years and have a lot of savings with them, and my business account is with them too, but they have charged me £22 for going overdrawn for just 24 hours last week and I really want to leave them, the attitude of customer relations when I queried this was appalling.
But, I don't want to cut my nose off despite my face if there is some benefit to being a long-term account holder.
