Sri Lanka seems to be very cheap to go to. Me and my sister were considering it about 4 weeks ago, we had seen offers on https://www.travelmood.com and on http://www.mercury-direct.co.uk. You could get at least 10 days 5* for about £700 easily.

I have just come back from Sri Lanka and used First Choice, who were very good. They were quite expensive though (£1200 for 2 weeks), and they seem to only fly in for a very short window of time (I think maybe just Feb and March?)

Hopefully going back in July, just need to find a cheap flight now, as I will be 'backpacking'.
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

I don't know how long the promotional fares are valid for but currently you can get a return with Qatar Airways for about £380.

    My recommendation ..... http://www.jetwing.com/

Jetwing are a major Sri Lankan travel company whose hotels and resources are featured and used by the likes of Kuoni. ;)

Book your flights per Incapuppy with Qatar and your hotels/internal travel with Jetwing... Bob, Uncle, Fanny, Aunt. :)

Perhaps you need to accept that you were unlucky?

The following text from their website speaks for itself:
