how irresistable is 'very irresistable!' nothing much happening over here on the woman frount, could do with an ego boost!

Was thinking of staying in a Ryokan when in hokone, just need to find a decent one.

We did precisely that a couple of years ago. I wish I could remember some details about the ryokan, but I can't. It had an outdoor spa bath thing which was great in the early morning when the air was cool and the bright blue water warm.

Hakone and the area are wonderful, a real change after a few days in polluted, densely-populated Tokyo. I enjoyed Tokyo too, but getting out and feeling the difference in the air was a real eye-opener (or is that nose-opener?).

    Enjoy.

You'll be fighting them off provided you're clean shaven!
Even corny chat up lines work!

    Facial
Another nice place is Koiwai - they have an SL (steam locomotive) hotel http://www.koiwai.co.jp/makiba/stay/index.html but it only shows in the Japanese version.

    Mr. Saver here....

If you do make it to stay in Hiroshima then the International Youth Hostel (Astor Plaza???) is excellent for the price - though if I remember rightly there was a midnight/1 am curfew (it was 6 years ago so could be wrong there), but at only around £20 a night this was definitely worth it The location is good too, only about 5 minutes from the Peace Park.

They did have a very strange idea about what an english breakfast was supposed to be though...

Visiting the tombs of the 47 ronin was a strange one - but worth it if you happen to be in the area (they are at Senkaku ji, Shinagawa, Tokyo). If you've seen the film Ronin, it is these ronin that de Niro tells the story about.

Wherever you go and whatever you do I'm sure you'll have a great time.
