Housing Benefit Query

Anna. Again we do not know your reasons for wanting to leave. But why do you expect the state to pay for you to be housed when as you have said you already own half a house.
Because as I have already stated I have contributed nothing to the house that is deemed half mine, and as a consequence of my 'ex' being able to earn enough to pay for the thing he has contributed what the taxman considers a fair share to the state. Please bear in mind that I have not come over to this country in the hope of a free ride. I and my ex have contributed all our working lives what we should so is it really too much to expect a little in return at my time of need?0 -
You could end up worse off if you make yourself intentionally homeless. What if they put you in a hostel?0

But of course you have. You have kept the house and your husband and your children.
It is not just a question of monetary input here. Both legally and ethically you are perfectly entitled to your share of the dwelling."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

I think you will find you won't get any help while you are still living in the matrimonial home. You may well find yourself in a b&b. Also many Landlords are not interested to rent to people on housing benefit. Why don't you think about getting a job and supporting yourself0

I do have a job but can only work part time due to commitments to two small children, and do everything I can to support them and me.0
