Non selling seller?

Hello,

Can somebody help me? I won an auction on 27 July. I tried to pay with Paypal straigh away, and there was a message saything that Paypal was not available. I then contacted the seller who requested I pay by PO as their Paypal account is being verified.

I decided to send a cheque, so contacted the seller to ask for her? address. Yesterday, as I still hadn't heard back I emailed again asking for her address so that I can send the cheque.

As I am new'ish to Ebay could somebody let me know what the next step should be, and how long I have to give the seller to get in touch.

Thanks v much

Emma.

Remember you're entitled to pay with paypal if it was stated on the auction. This does give you more protection than paying with cheque, or god forbid, PO.

You could try pulling her contact details and giving her a call.

I would wait another few days before emailing again - you dont know for sure how often the seller can access their emails.

If you dont hear anything by the weekend then maybe start a dispute but do give the seller ample chance to reply to your emails in case of limited internet access for him/her!

It might be a valid point but in this day and age; I would expect a seller to have easy access to a PC.

I agree wait a couple of days and hopefully they have sorted out their PayPal account. If I were you I would wait until they can accept PayPal minor alarms would be ringing in my head:-

No PayPal and no contact...hang on!!

    Thanks,

I will indeed give them until the weekend. Just a question, when I go into My Ebay, and then click on the item, it says 'Please pay the seller by personal cheque'. How, if I then heard from the seller and her Paypal had become verified, would I then pay by Paypal (I would prefer this tbh) as I can't see this option anywhere.

    TIA

    Emma.

since you wona n auction and the seller does not want to seem to continue, put neg feedback and forget about it - give them one more email today and give untill weekend. as said above, maybe there is a good reason.... give till say sunday and then put in neg feedback and forget :)
Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.

It is far too early to be leaving negs, all that will happen is that the seller will neg back pointing out how few days has elapsed and then probably go straight to an NPB and get a strike on the OPs account.

I agree with earlier advice. The OP has made every effort to contact seller and I would now leave it up to the seller to make contact. However, if the auction said paypal accepted there is no way at all that I would now send a cheque and risk losing all my money.

Other things to suggest would be to check your spam filter as ebay messages do go astray, and possibly even call up sellers phone details and give them a call. Explain politely that you bid expecting to be able to use paypal and will therefore wait until they are in a position to be able to accept paypal.

How much did you pay for the item? If they're a new seller be very careful...they may just have set up an account simply to rip you off. Would agree with the others - send another e-mail detailing your intentions....i.e. after 7 days Ebay suggest themselves that you set up a dispute. State you will do this if you haven't heard from the seller by then.
This has indeed happened to me (although I was the seller and the buyer didn't pay up).
Just ask us any more questions on here if you need advice. :D

    Thanks guys,

The item was only £9.05 (a Dora the Explorer DVD), so not a great deal of money. I will do as you say and wait it out until the end of the week, then email to start a dispute - I may be back for advice on disputes!!

Soo, def no emails in my spam either, but thanks for suggesting.

    Thanks again,

    Emma
