I use the yahoo homepage for internet explorer and have done for years.
Last week I noticed that yahoo toolbar had appeared.
I know I didn't instal it.
I uninstalled it - but today it was there again.
I have uninstalled again but how do I dump it permanently?

Others might be able to help you but my experience was yahoo changed my registry and all sorts without my permission when I installed yahoo widgets, so yahoo was my default search engine, home page etc and I couldn't change it back. I tried everything and only got rid of all the yahoo stuff by completely reinstalling xp. Needless to say I shan't be using anything yahoo related again."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

You can probably remove it with HijackThis - if you post the log, one of the experts will tell you what to remove (if it isn't obvious).

I use a 3 part system to get rid of unwanted stuff.
1.....remove in Add/Remove..Control Panel.
2.....go to Search, type in the name and other names it could use, right click and delete individual files.
3.....use ccleaner or any registry cleaner to get rid of the rest.0 -

Have to pay Middleman, for Reg Mechanic, couldn't even find the price, so deleted it. BUT it did find 188 errors and some of which I recognized as possible. Made me think.0

You don't have to pay for all programs. There are some excellent free programs to download like RegCleaner and Irfanview for example.

I thought it might be something stronger looking at your reply to Ken68 - your Regcleaner link is for Acrobat Reader!
