Short Break End of October - Where?

Hi Everyone,

I am leaving my current job on 28th or 29th October and starting a new one on 2nd November. I would like to go away for a short break over this weekend but I dont know where to start looking. I quite fancy Europe somewhere, budget about £200 each (there is 2 of us). Can anyone tell me where I could look for a cheap break away on these dates? Would prefer a package deal inc flights and hotel in the City, we like sightseeing, museums, shops, football, not bothered about the weather. We have done Paris. Departing from Manchester or Liverpool. Quite fancy somewhere in the UK either but cant be flexible on the dates.....Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Edit: Actually, thinking about it we could do the whole week of 2nd October rather than the weekend.....

How about the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava? I went there last August and it was beautiful. Its a pretty compact city, easily navigable on foot, mainly flat (apart from the hill up to the castle) and it is really cheap to eat and drink. We stayed in a fantastic hotel, the Radisson Carlton which was not the cheapest but was well worth the £65 per night we paid for it. I had a look on Skyscanner and flights from Manchester with SkyEurope were around £65 each return inclusive of all taxes/charges.

The city is close to the border with Austria and a day trip to Vienna would be easily possible too.

the only cities ive been to are malaga and madrid

madrid was fab and we paid just over £200 each for flights and 3 nights B&B accom last july

malaga was part of a weeks holiday to the costa del sol

if you search about you should get a good deal for october

for a weeks holiday we always used to go the costa del sol, still warm in october and still "sunbathing on the beach" weather :) only 1 day of rain out of 14 so maybe we were lucky ?!!

we flew BMI from cardiff and always had fab flight prices

the canaries is supposed to be good weather all yr round and is always recommened on holiday sites for place to go yr round :)
