Names on ticket/passport

My husband has booked a package holiday ticket for his father using his first name and surname only. This does not match his father's passport, which also contains his middle name. Will the ticket still be valid or does it need to be changed?

What exactly on the ticket doesn't match the passport? Middle names are not required on the ticket.
